Updated Government Fees as of 3/8/2005

You need to pay a total of $157 dollars for the government processing fees. The fees are broken up accordingly.

A $30 amount is paid to the post office or court house you visit and kept by them. This is the fee they charge to help you with your application.

The remaining $127* (made out to the "US Dept. of State") is given to the post office or court house agent (AA) and sealed in an envelope they provide. The AA does not keep the sealed envelope with the $127. The sealed envelope is returned to you and then sent to American Passport Express. It is given by our service to the Department of State Passport Agency.

*The $127 portion is comprised of a government expedite fee of $60 and a government processing fee of $67 dollars. (The $60 government expedite fee is not listed on the DS-11 form however it must be paid.)
